Nestled at the foot of Mount San Vigilio, and at the entrance to the Val d'Ultimo, Lana is a sizeable village perfectly situated to help you make the most of your visit to the region. Known as the Fruit Basket of the South Tyrol, Lana is surrounded by apple orchards and vineyards. You can take a relaxing stroll along the Waalweg, a path along the ancient irrigation ditch, that runs from Lana to the outskirts of Meran, with plenty of opportunities to stop along the way at inns and Weinstüben for a bite to eat or something to quench your thirst. The path ends at Forst, home to the only brewery in the South Tyrol.
From Lana you can take a cable car up to Vigiljoch, the saddle of Mount San Vigilio, where wonderful trails abound for all levels of hikers. From here you have a magnificent view of the entire valley from Meran to Bolzano, with the majestic Dolomites towering in the distance.

Vigiljoch: Wunderschöne Wald-, Alm- und Berglandschaft auf 1.500 m Meereshöhe. Im Winter herrliche Skipisten in allen Schwierigkeitsgraden, Langlaufloipe, Rodelbahn, Pferdeschlittenfahrten.
Lana, il «frutteto del Sudtirolo» è circondata dai vigneti e frutteti, ricca della loro atmosfera e dei loro profumi. Lana è un'importante testimonianza di come l'uomo e la natura possono convivere in un rispetto totale.
Monte San Vigilio: Bellissima zona circondata da campi, boschi e prati a 1.500 m di altezza. D'inverno meravigliose piste da sci, pista da fondo e pista slittini.
